Final photos of deck remodeling project from Birkdale subdivision in Chesterfield Co
All of the decking and rails were removed from the existing deck.
A new 16′ x 18′ deck was installed 3 steps down from the existing deck height.
Framing members consist of 2 x 10 band boards and 2 x 8 floor joist.
Pressure treated flooring was ran at alternating angles at both decks.
The new deck has pressure treated railings and new vinyl lattice around the perimeter.

We removed all of the flooring, stairs and railings from the existing deck.
The new extension for the deck will be 16′ x 18′ an will provide a wonderful view of the lake.
The framing will be installed on concrete footings and 6 x 6 pressure treated post.

New Timbertech XLM PVC www.timbertech.com flooring has been installed using tiger claw hidden fasteners.
A new 12′ x 36′ porch roof has been built over the existing deck and a new deck was built for a hot tub and new stairs to the rear pool area.
The new roof has been engineered for minimal support columns to maximize the viewable area from the deck.
The support columns are 8″ square structural fiberglass and will be painted white.
Rafters for the porch are 2 x 8′s and there are 4 Velux skylights installed in the roof according to the home owner future use plan.
Shingles are an aspault based dimensional style that carries a lifetime warranty.

Here is a final photo of a 12′ x 12′ pressure treated deck and adjacent 4′ walkway access to an existing deck on the side of the home.
The deck was framed with 6 x 6 support post, 2 x 10 band and beams and 2 x 8 floor joist spaced at 16″ on center.
Decking is a 5/4″ x 6 traditional pressure treated style and is fastened down with glued and serrated hot dipped galvanized nails.
Railings are 2 x 4 runners, 2 x 2 pickets spaced at 4″ on center and a 2 x 6 cap railings.

Here are the before and demolition pictures of a deck project in Chester VA. Now that we have removed all of the existing railings, lattice, flooring and deck framing that was inadequate. New footings have been dug and code compliant concrete blocks are installed. We will be re-supporting the deck and installing new decking using coated screws as well as hot dipped galvanized bolts to to secure the decking and railing materials.

Framing for this 12′ x 18′ pressure treated deck in Chesterfield Co Va. is now ready for the new decking. The deck was installed on matching brick piers and bolted to the home by 1st changing the TJI rim board and installing a new pressure treated band board. The bands are 2 x 10 and the floor joists are 2 x 8 spaced at 16″ on center. All the fasteners to install the deck framing and decking boards are hot dipped galvanized. Here are final photos of a pressure treated deck in the Summerford/Collington neighborhood in Chesterfield Co. We matched the existing framing with 2 x 10 beams and band boards. Floor joist are 2 x 8′s and the decking is 5/4 x 6 ran at an opposing angle to the existing deck for a herring bone effect. Railing must withstand 200 lbs of force and consist of 2 x 4 runners with 2 x 2 beveled pickets spaced at 3.5″ as set forth by the Virginia uniformed Building code. http://www.dhcd.virginia.gov/StateBuildingCodesandRegulations/PDFs/2006/2006_VirginiaConstructionCode.pdf.
