This project will include a new deck, new windows and insulated vinyl siding. We will start with the deck and see if there is any rotten sill plates and flash properly before we start the siding.

The existing deck is a 12′ x 20′ with a 4′ wide set of steps. The new deck will be 16′ x 20′ using traditional pressure treated. Support post are 6 x 6′s. Beams and bands are 2 x 10′s that are either single or doubled depending on design requirements. Floor joist are 2 x 8′s spanning no greater than 10′ at 16″ on center. Decking is a premium 5/4″ deck boards that will be ran perpendicular to the rear of the home.  All fasteners will be hot dipped galvanized.  Post for the handrails are 4 x 4 post and 44″” in height for future post caps.

Here is a progress framing photos of a new deck with an inset hot tub

The main deck will be a 16′ x 19′ with a 3′ x 4′ landing from the existing screen porch. The rear deck and railings will be traditional pressure treated with 3 sections of railing that will have tempered glass pickets. Support post are a combination of brick pillars and 6 x 6′s. Beams and bands are 2 x 10′s that are either single or doubled depending on design requirements. Floor joist are 2 x 8′s spanning no greater than 11′ 8″ at 16″ on center. Decking is standard 5/4″ deck boards that will be ran straight. All fasteners will be hot dipped galvanized.

Here is a photo of completed brick pillars for a new 16′ x 19′ deck addition with a inset hot tub.

The brick pillars are a matching over sized Portsmouth brick manufactured by Triangle brick company.

Mortar for the brick pillars is a Roanoke Type S in the color of buff.

Framing will be starting soon so check back soon.

Support post are 6 x 6′s. Beams and bands are 2 x 10′s that are either single or doubled depending on design requirements. Floor joist are 2 x 8′s spanning no greater than 11′ 8″ at 16″ on center. Here are some photos of an existing deck that we have torn down for a new pressure treated deck that will be the same size as the existing deck. We removed  the existing deck in four hours and place all the old deck debris was placed in our dump trailer. The old deck was hauled off  to a local landfill for proper disposal. We have dug the footings and will be starting the new deck immediately. Will be posting some new photos in a few days on this project so check back soon.

This composite decking project in Midlothian Va consisted of removing all existing deck boards, lattice and railings. We added extra framing for installation of the perimeter border and the angled decking. The products that we used on this project are Timbertech composite decking and railings http://www.timbertech.com/ . The underside of the porch has vinyl lattice with new gates forhidden storage areas. The decking was installed using Tigerclaw hidden fastener system http://www.deckfastener.com/ .
